The
Willow Investment Fund
The fund has been created by Vintage Years
Company Limited, which was established in 1998. It is based
in Kent 15 minutes from Euro tunnel. By the end of 2005, it had made
four significant investments in private businesses and all are progressing
well (see examples in The Way We Work).
The company works by investing in private companies or by investing
alongside private equity firms, but in 2007 it also set up the Willow
Investment Fund for angel investment. The company has adopted the
code of practice of the British
Business Angels Association and the new fund will make investments
in the range £15,000-150,000.
The
business profile
We represent individual investors looking to support and invest in businesses in the South East of England.
Our preference is for businesses which are focused on design, manufacturing
and sales of a product range. The business should be outsourcing or
looking to outsource if the product has significant labour content
or technology but should own the intellectual property. The business
should also be focused on consumer or industrial markets via distribution
or direct. The leader of the business needs to be a very person-individual
who values team players. We put great emphasis on the nature and style
of the leader.
We will invest in ideas but prefer
businesses which have been established for perhaps one or two years,
or longer, and which are looking for a proportion of non-interest
bearing money to take the business to new levels.
